Research Highlights
The faculty has been improving teaching and research qualities. Based on the trend in Taiwan industry as well as our faculty, facilities, and research results, our department focuses on the application of relevant chemical engineering theory in biotechnology, nanotechnology, special chemical products, pollution prevention, and high-tech. materials. In addition, we aim to develop key technologies for a pollution-free production process. Our laboratories equipped with special instruments for graduate-level research are dedicated to different research areas (Featured Labs). These laboratories provide services to all our faculty members and students for their research and teaching needs.
In 2017, the Dept. of Chemical Engineering and Biotechnology & Institute of Chemical Engineering received a total of 50 million TWD in R&D funding from the TRUST-U(科技部價值創造計畫),which aims to enhance collaboration between universities, businesses, and research institutions. It also plans to facilitate and expedite the commercialization of Research and Development (R&D) results from academia for mass production. The Project encourages universities to leverage their basic research capabilities and facilities to develop advanced and innovative industrial technologies, produce key intellectual properties, and contribute to successful startups(spin-off) or mergers and acquisitions (spin-in).
